The hosts provide the influence needed to open the first doors of the season, but players must build relationships and thus strengthen their influence in order to obtain invitations to the most coveted events.
Over the course of four weeks, players climb the social ladder to become Queen Victoria's favorites, commission series of paintings in the gallery to become the artist's muse, forge valuable relationships in the ballroom to become the preferred guests, learn secrets in the tea room, and prepare their hand for the final game of whist in the drawing room. The player with the most Victoria points at the end of the season is named “favorite of the season” and wins the game.
