Build and perpetuate the ancient Egyptian empire.

Gift of the Nile is a solitaire game in which you play as the pharaohs of the many reigning dynasties of ancient Egypt from 2686 BC onwards.

The aim of the game is to build a prosperous and victorious Egyptian empire. On a map of Northeast Africa, you'll annex the various “Sepats” (chiefdoms) you encounter. As you build enduring monuments like the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings, hostile foreign powers like Kush, Persia and the Hittites will seek to push you back towards the Nile Valley and threaten your vast capital of Men-Nefer (better known as Memphis).

Meanwhile, you'll have to civilize the country by building temples to Egyptian gods such as Isis, Osiris and Amon-Ra, or face their wrath!

Finally, incest and debauchery will threaten the Greek Ptolemaic dynasty that gave birth to Cleopatra, and you'll have to defeat the brutal and efficient Romans.

Your place in history will depend on your empire-building skills, as well as a little luck!
