Expand your influence in the Church by putting some of your vassals in key positions such as bishop, cardinal and even Pope! Recruit soldiers to defend and claim new lands. Maybe one day you will become King of France! 

But if you think that only brute force will allow you to achieve your goal, you are mistaken. It is your diplomatic skills that will be most useful to you. Sow discord among your opponents, make agreements with other families, respect them or flout them according to your interests. You can even organize a wedding to unite the destiny of your family with that of another player and win together!
