Great War at Sea - U.S. Navy Plan Crimson is a game simulating a hypothetical invasion of Canada by the U.S. Army in 1920.

In the 1920s, American military officials developed a plan for the invasion of Canada. Called the Crimson War Plan, it was a subset of War Plan Red, the largest, most detailed and most modified of all American war plans for war with England. A war with Britain and the British Commonwealth would be a world conflict, which easily makes the term "World War II" appropriate.

The Crimson Plan of the U.S. Navy brings the Great War at Sea series to a very strange place: the war on the Great Lakes. It is probably the strangest game ever published, filled with ships that never existed and fighting a war that never took place.

Although it's a game based on wars that never happened, fighting with ships that were never built, in each case the military planners thought about these battles and the ships at least reached the planning stage.

In this case, designer Milan Becvar created a reality, and a game based on it, from his feverish Canadian imagination. This creates a strategic situation open to all, in which friendly and enemy bases are so close together that fleets cannot hope to escape.
