The barricade tokens are divided into crates, walls, and barrels. They have their own hit points, and hunters can interact with them by taking cover behind them or searching them. What's new compared to the past is that barricades have different hit points depending on their type. Walls have the highest number of hit points, while barrels have the lowest.

Barricade tokens are placed on the map tiles during setup and offer hunters the opportunity to take cover. A hunter in the same area as a barricade can hide behind it. This is not an action. Simply place the mini behind the token to indicate that the hunter is in cover. Similarly, leaving cover is not an action. When enemies activate, they continue to move toward hunters in cover and target them. However, they must destroy the barricade before attacking the hunter directly. They attack the barricade with a normal attack, and the barricade loses one health point for each HIT result of their attack. The token is removed from play when it has 0 health points, exposing the hunter. A barricade provides cover for only one hunter. Vampires never take cover.

Barrels and crates can be searched by hunters. To do so, the hunter must attack the token and destroy it. When a barrel is destroyed, you may choose to draw a random item or search the item deck for a Wine card. Wine is useful because it helps overcome the pain of your wounds, healing 1 health point.

Vampire lairs are ancient, dilapidated structures that often collapse in the heat of battle. Some cards will ask you to place a Debris token. A Debris token is placed under the hunter who resolves the card to remind them that they are trapped by debris. When you place the token, the hunter takes 1 hit. The hunter must free themselves before they can perform any other actions. They can free themselves, or another hunter in the same area can free them by using the new Dig action to free themselves. Once freed, the token can be discarded.
