Play as druids in search of ancient relics!
Darkness Strategy Card Game takes place over six rounds. In each round, players try to acquire cards that give them endgame points and special abilities. The objective of the game is to score the most points at the end.
Each round is divided into four phases. In the first phase, players place three colored cards from their hand face down in front of them. Next, everyone reveals their cards.
Next, each player places two cards face down in front of them and reveals them. Finally, players play one last card face down and reveal it, for a total of six cards revealed. Finally, there is a resolution phase in which players determine who has the most dominant and subdominant colors for each of the available artifacts, and distribute them accordingly.
Players have the same hand of 15 cards throughout the game, which limits the chance of luck. The 15 cards are composed of five suits, with three cards of each suit. Once a card is played during a round, it is returned to the player's hand at the end of the round and can be played again.
Each artifact card has a dominant color and a subdominant color. The card is awarded to the player who has played the most cards of the color corresponding to the dominant color. In case of a tie, the card goes to the player who played the most cards of the subdominant color. The reason the game is complex and fun is that there are many different dominant and subdominant colors on the board at the same time, and players must predict what the other players will do based on collecting sets and optimizing color specialization.
The game ends after six rounds. The person who wins is the one who has the most points, which is determined by the amount of one type a player has in each of his sets, and by the number of gem relics he has.
