Only the bravest dare to venture into the Gnarled Wood, a deadly forest where trees are capable of uprooting themselves to feast on the flesh of the living. The Horns of Hashut are ruthless destroyers who worship an impetuous, tyrannical and cruel deity. Their god has charged them with razing the Gnarled Wood, and they intend to fulfill this mission or die trying. But first, they'll have to deal with the Creed of Putrefange, a demented cult of plague alchemists seeking to drown the Devouring Ruin of Talaxis in a wave of filth.
