Albuera 1811

Spain, 1811: the French faced a coalition of English, Spanish and Portuguese entrenched around Albuera.

The battle of Albuera has gone down in history as the bloodiest battle of the Napoleonic Peninsular War. Marshal Soult thought he could crush a mixed Spanish, British and Portuguese force and claim a great French victory. He was mistaken. A clever flanking attack was stopped short by some of the best Spanish troops of the war. Then, despite a devastating charge by his formidable Polish Lancers, the Allies held their ground and Soult's efforts were in vain.

Albuera 1811 is played on a zone map. Leaders, formations (square) and artillery (horse or battery) are simulated.

In addition to the historical battle, Albuera 1811 contains optional rules for leaders (including counters), and you can build an unlimited number of scenarios based on a combination of optional "what if" rules.
