Classic 1000 piece puzzle
Eccentric, meticulous to the extreme, great connoisseur of Freudian theories, Salvador Dalí (1904 - 1989) has marked the history of surrealism as much as that of modern art. His technique, however, is based on a very advanced realism reflecting his passion for the Italian and Spanish old masters (Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Diego Velázquez...). Inventor of a method of spontaneous creation called "paranoia-criticism", the master willingly defined himself as a genius. His surrealist period remains one of the most outstanding in a body of work that spans nearly 70 years!
The Hallucinogenic Torero is an oil on canvas by Salvador Dalí, dating from 1970, it is exhibited at the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. It is a major work on which he worked for two years. It gathers a great part of Dalí's visual themes, broken up in a profusion of details and finally gathered in the great well hidden figure of the bullfighter following the paranoid-critical method dear to the author.
