In Zauberberg, infamous witches have decided to steal the Great Enchanter's magic crystal. 

As apprentices, your mission is to stop them and get to the bottom of the hill before they do!

To win, follow the will-o'-the-wisps through the winding paths of the forest. You'll have to lower the marbles by moving each figure they touch to the next coloured point until the marble reaches the bottom of the hill. Then a new marble is drawn, and the process starts again.

If the apprentices manage to reach the enchanter before the witches, you win the game! All the players have to make the right choices together to succeed.

The game won the Kinderspiel des Jahres award in 2022.

Here's how to play Zauberberg:

During a turn, shoot a will-o'-the-wisp and place it at the top of one of the six starting channels, then let it go.

If the will-o'-the-wisp hits a miniature, the ball stops. Pick up this miniature and move it to the next coloured open space on the winding path corresponding to the colour of the will-o'-the-wisp.

If you're moving an apprentice sorcerer, you need to be quick, because if the will-o'-the-wisp hits the same miniature again, you can move it again! On the other hand, take your time moving the witches, as you want them to move as little as possible.

If a will-o'-the-wisp doesn't hit a miniature, you must move a witch of your choice to the corresponding coloured square.
When all five will-o'-the-wisps have been fired, put them back in the bag and start again.

To win, you must manage to move four apprentice witches to the foot of the mountain before three witches arrive. You can adjust the difficulty of the game by adding more apprentice witches, reducing the number of witches, or doing both. You can also choose to play competitively, where each player or team tries to get their group of four characters to the bottom of the mountain first.
