Lead your fishing village through the harsh Nordic winters.

Generations before you relied on the exploitation of the oceans. But at the end of the 19th century, changes and opportunities are opening up for your fishing village in northern Norway.

In Saltfjord, you have to decide whether to expand your village with new buildings, send your boat out to collect fish, trade or develop new technologies to make everyday life easier. How will you shape the destiny of your village?

To add to the replayability, the game features many variable elements in the set-up, such as special abilities and available endgame tiles.

For three turns, players roll dice to activate buildings in their settlement. This allows them to obtain resources and activate actions such as sending a fishing boat, progressing along the various technology tracks, placing trade orders or erecting new buildings.

Each player's board represents a grid. When you draw a die, you activate all the buildings in the row or column corresponding to that die. As you build more buildings in your colony, each die can activate more buildings.

Technology tracks unlock special abilities, such as upgrading your fishing boat. Fishing is an important part of daily life in Saltfjord.
