Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is a role-playing game based on the universe of the iconic character Batman, created in 1939 by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, whose adventures continue to be published today by Detective Comics.
The scenarios take place in modern-day Gotham City, a port megapolis of eight million people located on the East Coast of the United States. Spread across several islands, the city is famous for its mix of high-tech skyscrapers, neo-Gothic mansions, docks, run-down districts, and abandoned industrial zones. Gotham is equally notorious for its bleak atmosphere, corruption, and exceptionally high crime rate—factors that have driven gifted individuals to don vigilante costumes to protect the weak and support law enforcement in their desperate fight against crime.
