Typhon sur le Pacifique - Seconde Edition

Description

On December 7, 1941, six Japanese aircraft carriers launched two waves of aircraft on Pearl Harbor, sinking five battleships, three cruisers and nearly two hundred aircraft. This was the beginning of the Pacific War, which lasted until the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagazaki in 1945. Typhoon on the Pacific simulates the entire conflict that opposed the Japanese Empire to the United States of America and their allies between December 1941 and August 1945. The game does not cover the "Chinese Incident" of 1937, nor the Soviet operation of August 1945, nor the operation on Pearl Harbor, the outcome of which is taken into account in the Allied placement.

Typhoon on the Pacific - Second Edition is mainly a solitaire game. Indeed, in this war, only one side had the initiative at a time. Japan took center stage at first, then, after the Solomons in October 1942, took almost no operational action. While the Allies, after a disastrous start, did not let go of the offensive and the reconquest until the capitulation of Japan. It is therefore easy to leave the player in charge of the active side, while the rules determine the strategy and movements of the non-player side.

The player will start as the leader of the Japanese Empire, either victory will end the game, or the end of the victories and geographic expansion will decide the player to change sides; he will then become an Allied commander. Victory will be counted at the end of the game, by adding the victory points earned by playing both sides. It is of course possible to play the game with two players. You just have to let each side act during its operations phase but keep the reaction rules and the Japanese logistics system.

The game contains :

- A 59 x 41 cm map
- 216 pre-cut double-sided counters and markers
- A booklet of rules and scenarios
- A full color game aid
