Design a submarine, recruit a crew, and test it during the civil war!

Infernal Machine can be played as a scenario or a campaign. In a campaign, you can choose the city or port where the project's mechanical workshop will be located. Since construction materials and labor come at a cost, your role as an entrepreneur comes into play when you seek investors to join your team; their money will allow you to finance the construction of your fishing boat. As an inventor, your design gives shape and substance to the size and shape of your submarine, as well as its capabilities.

Will it be equipped with a snorkel?

Will its bow be equipped with a mast-mounted torpedo as its main weapon?

Will it tow a captive mine instead? Will it be equipped with diving planes?

To bring your plans to life, you will need to hire mechanics whose engineering expertise will ensure that your infernal machine is built on schedule. Companions can also lend a hand in the workshop and inside the fishing boat, while sailors contribute their nautical expertise and physical strength.

While your machine shop is busy starting construction on the submarine, the game reminds you that the war is dragging on and the economic climate is unstable. Material and labor prices fluctuate. Current events can affect your construction schedule and the performance of your machine shop. Public or even personal circumstances may force you to take action. You may decide to launch your fishing boat before it is ready, or send your crew into battle without sufficient training. So many decisions to make. Who can you turn to and how can you find the information you need?
