KTBG-FOTMK-KS
This game tells the story of the legendary war between trolls and gnomes, which took place several generations before the events of The Lair of the Mountain King. In an unstoppable assault, the gnomes managed to break through our gates and their hordes are now sweeping through our kingdom, deep within the mountain. Faced with this invasion, few heroes dare to stand up to them.
Yet you are one of them. Leading the troll defenders, you urge your people to fight for their salvation, but that is not enough. You must also gain the support of the various clans, repel the invaders, and defend the great sacred halls as the situation continues to worsen. The fall of the Mountain King seems inevitable, but the ferocity of your struggle fuels the flame of our hope; the hope that one day we will be able to return home.
The game is played in three rounds called waves. At the beginning of each wave, you improve your ancestry, a set of symbols that determine your abilities. On each of your turns, you perform actions to place your trolls in the caves (facing your rivals and fighting gnomes) as well as to add trolls to the board, manipulate gnomes, and influence powerful champions to join your faction.
At the end of each wave, new gnomes invade several caves, digging deeper and deeper into the bowels of the mountain. During the game, you will earn honor by slaying gnomes, falling gloriously in battle during invasions, and benefiting from the abilities of certain champions.
At the end of waves I and II, you earn honor by controlling caves, particularly by being present in the various areas associated with each clan. At the end of wave III, you earn honor by participating in the defensive perimeter around the great halls, preserving many Ancient symbols in your ancestry, and accumulating the most votes from each clan (votes obtained by impressing the champions with your aggressiveness on their territory). At the end of the game, the player with the most honor wins!
