The mysterious Captain Nemo saved Professor Aronnax, his servant Conseil, and harpooner Ned Land from death at sea. Now, aboard the Nautilus, an amazing submarine of his own invention, they embark on a voyage of discovery to explore the depths of the ocean.
Move the Nautilus, bring it to the surface and dive to avoid obstacles and score points for various elements, such as whales hunted, islands sighted, ships sunk, treasures found, kelp forests, or even visit the lost continent of Atlantis.
While exploring shipwrecks, hunting sea creatures, and uncovering the mysteries of Atlantis, players compete to earn points through smart decisions and spatial strategy.
The game is played in sixteen simultaneous turns. Each turn, players secretly choose one of three rows of characters, then move the Nautilus using the indicated movement points.
On their sheets, they record their discoveries and score points for islands in their line of sight, sunken ships, kelp forests, treasures, and hunted cetaceans. If multiple players choose the same character, a hazard is triggered, unless one of them holds the rotating Council card, which grants temporary immunity.
With unique character bonuses, a dedicated solo mode, and a multi-tiered final scoring system, the game rewards thoughtful planning and tactical moves. The double-sided map system invites players to dive and resurface at key moments, adding both depth and replayability. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea offers a sleek, compact, and immersive experience for 1 to 5 adventurers.
