"In 1803, Napoleon's France sold the immense and little-known Louisiana in the United States of America. The President Thomas Jefferson then commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to discover the "wild" West. In the game it's the same thing, every player drives from Saint Louis to Fort Clatsop his "Corps of Discovery", completed throughout the journey by Indians and trappers met."

Each player leads an expedition across the United States. The goal is to be the first to reach the West Coast. Lewis & Clark is therefore a racing game where only first place counts. Each player holds character cards that make up their expedition. These characters allow players to perform actions such as collecting resources, advancing along the route or asking the Indians for help.

To be triggered, the action corresponding to a card must be associated with a force provided either by another card or by Indians. Each turn of the game, a player must perform an action.

He can also recruit a new character and improve his hand. of cards. Finally, on a regular basis, the players will be able to set up their camp in order to take back in hand the cards already played. But the loading of resources and the number of Indians received can eventually make the advance lose hard won.

The management of resources and Indians is therefore crucial in the game. The game stops immediately as soon as a player has brought his camp.
