Raids, pitched battles, sieges, ambushes, pillaging, assassinations, and betrayals punctuated this war. It was therefore a challenge to simulate this complex and non-linear war. In fact, there are very few games on this subject. We chose to design it on a strategic scale while maintaining excellent playability.
We had to make choices, and not all the details dear to historians will be included, but you will be immersed in the medieval atmosphere and feel the epic thrill of your cavalry charges in late medieval France.
The Hundred Years' War (1337-1453) was a major conflict between the Kingdom of France and the Kingdom of England that lasted 116 years. It originated from complex territorial and dynastic claims: the kings of England, descendants of the royal house of Plantagenet, owned land in France and claimed the French throne following the death of Charles IV, the last direct Capetian king.
In The Hundred Years' War, two sides clash. With four players, you play as either one of the two factions of the Franco-Armagnac camp or one of the two factions of the Anglo-Burgundian camp.
Take control of strategic regions: from Guyenne to Normandy via Burgundy, rally as many territories as possible to your cause to get closer to victory!
Each side has techniques and equipment that evolve during the game thanks to the Tactics card deck! The English faction starts with the longbow, while the French faction can charge thanks to its cavalry.
You will have to make crucial decisions: build castles, improve your military techniques and tactics, and play your Event cards wisely to change the course of history!
Each side also has six iconic leaders. On the French side, for example, there is Joan of Arc, of course, but also Du Guesclin, and on the English side, Henry V or the Black Prince!
Contains the Hundred Years' War game, 4 card holders, and 1 exclusive staff map game aid.
