Money can't buy happiness... or can it?
In Brutus!, your goal is simple: keep your sesterces while pushing your opponents to lose theirs. Each round, you bet, play your special abilities, and fight to hold out until the end, because there can only be one winner. But between the power of the Lanistes and the Organizers who change the rules of combat each round, you'll need to bet wisely to hope to win.
“I came, I saw, I lost.”
Here, it's not about winning the most fights, but betting on the exact number of victories you think you'll get. Each round works like a trick-taking game with Gladiator cards numbered from 1 to 30: the strongest wins. At the end of the round, your wins are compared to your bet, and the difference determines the number of sesterces lost. Then a new Organizer appears and imposes new rules for the next round.
In the end, there can be only one
When the Brutus card appears among the Organizers, the grand finale begins. The powers of the Lanisters are then deactivated and each player enters a final face-off. You place your gladiators blindly on your forehead and bet on victory or defeat. Each mistake costs you one sesterce... and if everyone guesses correctly, only the player who catches the totem will keep their sesterces for that round. The game continues until there is only one player left. The last player still in possession of sesterces is then declared the winner.
