Crazy Worms is a lively and tactical tile-laying game for 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up, with games lasting about 20 minutes. The primary goal is to earn the most points by ensuring your chosen color appears most frequently on as many worms as possible. Players strategically place double-sided worm tiles to create long and valuable worms.
During a turn, players select a tile from one of three stacks and place it directly adjacent to an existing tile, with no diagonal placements allowed. A crucial element is that each worm tile is double-sided, displaying the same worm parts but in different colors; for instance, yellow always pairs with blue, and red with green. All adjacent worm part colors must match, and a worm can only have one head and one tail. Multicolored worm parts act as a joker, connectable to any color except another multicolored part. Once a tile is touched, it must be taken and placed, if possible.
The game concludes when all tiles are placed, followed by scoring. Points are awarded for worms of at least two tiles that have a head, a tail, or both, with points going only to the player whose color is most frequent on that worm (multicolored parts don't count for majority). Complete worms (one head, one tail, any body parts) grant 2 points per worm part to the majority color, while incomplete worms (e.g., just a head/tail with body parts, or a head and tail but no body parts) yield 1 point per part. The player with the most points wins. A team variant for four players sees Blue/Yellow compete against Red/Green, with combined team scores determining the winner.
