Zoo King

Before the game begins, each player buys one of the staff or facility cards from his or her starting allowance of $1,000. Randomly place the event and reward cards in a single deck, with the cards separated into groups based on the number of players. On each turn, you reveal an event card from the deck, then perform two actions (same or different) from these four:

•         Buy an animal, staff, or facility card from those available in the market, then add it to your zoo.
•         Draw the top card from the Animal Deck or the Staff/Facility Deck, then buy or discard it.
•         Buy the top card from either discard pile at a discount, even if it is not a card you discarded this turn.
•         Trade an animal from your zoo for an animal of equal or lower cost or star value in the market or on top of the discard pile.

After acquiring a pair of animals, you receive an immediate bonus of 100. You can also earn money with event cards, while staff and facility cards grant discounts and other benefits.

After a number of rounds, the first set of reward cards will appear, with rewards being dealt out one at a time or returned to the bottom of the event pile in case of a tie. Examples of rewards include most cats, most money in hand and most total stars. Once a player has collected three awards - or four awards in a two-player game - that player wins immediately. If no one wins in the first award ceremony, then another round of events must be completed, after which more awards will be distributed.
