Build the city of Troyes!
In 1200, Troyes Cathedral was built and would not be completed for another four centuries, after countless adventures.
This game invites you to participate in the rise of one of the most remarkable medieval cities, which left an indelible mark on Western culture. Society was then organized around three orders: the nobles, the clergy, and the peasants. The nobles constituted the military force dedicated in particular to the protection of the land and justice.
The clergy were the spiritual guides of the community, helping to maintain and develop knowledge and culture. The peasants and artisans, for their part, were given very little consideration, even though their hard work was essential to the life of the entire population. Troyes is a strategy game in which you play as a wealthy Champagne family using their influence to recruit and direct residents in three areas of activity: military (associated with the color red in all aspects of the game), religious (white), and civil (yellow). Each area offers its own advantages that you can take advantage of. For example, the military allows you to fight external attacks more effectively. The religious do everything they can to complete the construction of the cathedral and share their knowledge with civilians and the military. Finally, it is possible to take advantage of the civilians' labor to enrich yourself more quickly.
The city's inhabitants deploy a labor force represented by dice. You use these dice during the action phase to activate Activity cards, build the cathedral, combat harmful events, or recruit new residents. Each of these actions requires the use of a set of 1 to 3 dice. In addition, you must defend the ideas of an illustrious figure who has left a strong mark on the city. To win, you will also have to try to guess the ideas defended by the other players, to earn fame. The player who has earned the most fame, in the form of victory points, will win the game!
