When the game meets history!
The suitors first sought a legal solution, but politics prevailed: the peers of France decided in favor of Jeanne de Penthièvre, whose husband Charles de Blois was the nephew of King Philip VI of France. For their part, Jean de Montfort and Jeanne de Flandre sought support from King Edward III of England. The war of succession of Brittany then started and became one of the episodes of the Hundred Years War.
This struggle for the Duchy of Brittany will last more than twenty years.
The game takes place in a series of rounds during which each side takes turns to perform military and diplomatic actions, representative of what happened in the 14th century.
Historical characters influence the course of the game. You have to rally nobles, recruit troops to lead them into battle or lay siege to castles.
After many years of confrontation, the player who dominates the most territories, castles and supporters becomes the new Duke of Brittany!
