Indeed, the cards that you possess will be placed in the center of the table and can be retrieved by you and your opponent.

You will also have to have a sense of timing:
  •     Which cards should I put down and in which order?
  •     At what point do I pick up cards?
It is these cards, and only these, that will bring points at the end of the four rounds. But that's without counting on the possibility of winning the game at any time by collecting the three city cards in the game
