This book includes everything you need to play, seven varied and evocative quick-start scenarios (including one exclusive to the French edition), and a teaching guide to help you get started.
The GM-less, random-free game system emphasises conflicts between characters and their relationships, allowing you to quickly create a rich setting, flawed characters, and tense relationships that evolve over time.
The main characters are created using booklets:
- The Spider, a merchant, spy, or criminal.
- The Fallen, a vagabond and freelancer.
- The Stranger, an outsider to the station who is now stuck there.
- The Hybrid, a fusion of human and inhuman (such as artificial intelligence, an alien, or a deity).
- The Swarm, an artificial intelligence, a spirit, or a demon.
- The Scum, a destitute person who is perfectly integrated into the community.
- The Sibyl, a prophet with strange powers.
- The thunder, a gang leader or law enforcement officer.
- The voice, a cult follower, community leader or demagogue.
In addition, each player takes on one of the following elements of the setting:
- The above, a more prosperous and powerful society.
- Social conflicts and community divisions.
- The spirits that reside in this world.
- The people and things that come and go from outside the station.
- The gangs that run the business here.
- The ravages of war, which rages near the station.
- The relentless effects of poverty.
- The resistance fighting against the oppressors of the Slums.
