Build structures, manage your employees and defeat your rivals to become the next emperor.

Each turn, you build structures in the different provinces assigned to you via a rotating board. Balance war, politics, trade and religion as you plot against your rivals.

In Age of Rome, each player is assigned a hero on their respective game board, then given secret quests and starting resources (denarii, partisans, stratagem tokens, legions and votes). They then spend nine turns battling it out on a rotating board for glory points.

Each round consists of four phases:
1) Plan Phase: An Event card is revealed and the turn order is determined; players activate stratagems in turn order.
2) Construction phase: Players build structures in turn order.
3) Action phase: Players take actions by placing supporters in turn order.
4) Income phase: Players receive income and the province table is modified.
