Enter the tea ceremony!

The Japanese tea ceremony is a tradition centered on spirituality and servitude. Preparing and presenting a good and beautiful matcha tea to a guest is the ultimate expression of respect.
Matcha invites players to dive into this beautiful Japanese tradition.
To become an expert in this ceremony, you will need to collect the right utensils and ingredients :
  • Matcha tea leaves
  • One bowl¬†
  • One teaspoon
  • Water¬†
  • A whisk for mixing¬†
To beat your opponents, you'll also need to take a dose of risk by betting wisely, and sometimes bluffing to complete your ceremony first!

A strategic card game

With only 18 cards and an assortment of teaware tokens, Matcha brings a great strategic dimension to players who must decide when and where to play their cards. Players will therefore need to stay alert and make sure to match their cards at the best moment.
A Matcha game is played in series of three rounds. The game continues until a player has collected all the necessary items to perform his or her tea ceremony. Matcha does not have a predefined number of rounds.
The game ends when one of these two victory conditions is met by a player :
  • A player has collected four identical utensils...
  • A player has collected the five different utensils (leaves, bowl, spoon, whisk and water).
