Build a zoo that focuses on famous animals like lions, gorillas or elephants to attract and excite visitors. You can also develop partnerships with national parks for conservation and reintroduce endangered species into the wild.

Strategically place food stalls and souvenir stores to keep visitors satiated, while generating revenue to help your zoo grow and prosper. The more money you generate, the more options you have to create the zoo of your dreams!

With 35 different species (most represented by 230 magnificent animal meeples), you have a multitude of options for selecting your favorite animals. But selecting animals is just the beginning! Just as in real life, each extraordinary animal will require unique care to meet its individual needs. Be sure to balance group and enclosure size, social composition and proximity to visitors, to find the right balance between animal and visitor happiness. Happiness will play a particularly important role in the reproduction of animals and the addition of new animals to your zoo.

Play your cards right and you might just see your animals have offspring! This is important for conservation projects, but it's also a great source of popularity. However, don't forget that there must be a place for them once they're older.

In Zoo Tycoon, a strategic and thematic board game, each player has the freedom to develop his or her own zoo with 35 species, food stalls, zoo stores and more. Each animal has its own care needs, focusing on three key areas: popularity with visitors, educational value and nature conservation. As in real-life zoos, players have to strike the right balance between popularity and conservation over the course of the game. In the end, it's the lowest value between these two measures that will count towards your final score.

Every game will be different, offering great replay value. Thanks to a new gameplay mechanism, the animal market with its supply and demand is constantly changing. What's more, small events will influence the course of the game at every turn.
