It features stunning illustrations by Jérémie Fleury and art direction by Maxime Erceau, who has created a fun game that will be hard to resist.
In terms of mechanics, its author Kevin Gauvin has created a competitive memory game to which he has added a personal touch that gives it its charm.
In Kyoto No Koneko: Hide-and-Seek Kittens, players are faced with a 4x4 square of cards on which they can only see pairs of eyes, which are supposed to indicate the number of kittens they will discover if they decide to turn them over.
On their turn, a player reveals a Mission (cards shaped like cat heads) that tells them the exact number of kittens they must reveal.
The cards in the game show pairs of eyes in the night on the front (between 1 and 3 pairs of eyes) and cute kittens on the back.
The trick?
The number of pairs of eyes on the front does not necessarily correspond to the same number of kittens on the back.
Some kittens close their eyes or two kittens blink one eye and stand side by side, forming a single pair of eyes!
This will trick the players around the table, who will not always be able to trust what they see on the front of the cards, and there will be many surprises when the chosen card is revealed!
You will therefore need to use your memory to complete your mission by remembering, for example, that behind this single pair of eyes there are actually four mischievous kittens!
Micro Game is a range of wallet-sized games developed by Matagot. The games are from the Button Shy Games catalog. This collection of small games includes a wide variety of titles based on different themes and mechanics.
However, these games share some common characteristics: short games, high replayability, and refined, minimalist mechanics. The Micro Games range includes solo, two-player, multiplayer, and cooperative games.
