Like Gustave Eiffel or Ferdinand Dutert, step into the shoes of a visionary and design the iconic attraction of this global event. Relive the construction of this World's Fair, where Adolphe Alphand, its organizer, entrusts you with a daunting task: to create the most spectacular venues and attractions to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution. It is in this historic setting that the Eiffel Tower was born, becoming the icon we know today.
A reissue of a game by Matt Leacock, the famous author of Pandemic, Roll Through the Ages was first published in 2009 and nominated for the Spiel des Jahres in 2010. After disappearing from game stores in 2012, this game is making an unexpected and welcome comeback.
The game is played in several rounds. In each round, all players take a turn. When all players have completed their turn, the round ends and the next one begins. During their turn, players can perform all of the following actions, if possible (and/or required by the dice roll):
1. Roll the dice, then collect resources and pay workers
2. Pay workers and resolve the effects of disasters
3. Recruit workers and/or build monuments
4. Purchase one development (and only one)
5. Discard excess resources (beyond 6) and pass the dice.
