COSM-FROZFRONTDLX
In the 22nd century, Earth's population has reached 14 billion. Growing crises have plunged humanity into despair and hopelessness on a planet running out of resources. After several unsuccessful attempts at planetary colonization, the United Civilizations launched the Argo expedition through newly discovered wormholes at the edge of the solar system.
They arrive on Janus, the planet with two faces, with hellish solar winds of helium-3 on one side and frozen seas of methane on the other. Humanity has no choice but to settle on the frozen frontier in search of vital resources. Hope is there, but space is cold and unforgiving.
Each turn, a player has the option to move their transporter to any city, collect a project card, and perform one of the following three actions:
а) Build
A player uses the top part of a multi-purpose project card to construct a building. Each card defines the type of building and where to build it. If a player fulfills both conditions, the project card is added to their game board, and they benefit from the effect indicated in the lower part of the card each time it is triggered. Most buildings advance a player's industrial or scientific tracks to provide new opportunities, but their construction costs a variable amount of resources.
b) Collaborate
A player can place settlers and use their own production/science buildings or those of their competitors to receive valuable resources and effects.
с) Raise funds
A player receives Qubits and/or special opportunities by using a subsidy card.
When the subsidy card deck is empty, players perform the following steps in order:
1) Receive income from their own buildings and cards with an income phase effect.
2) Send resources to Earth: fulfill the common shipping contracts on the board (scheduled shipments), the private contracts in their hand (unscheduled shipments), and provide the required amount of He3 to avoid a penalty token (mandatory shipments).
3) prepare the game for the next round
At the end of the 3rd round, players count the number of victory points they have each earned. The player with the most points is the winner!
Players earn victory points for:
- controlled cities (the company that owns the most buildings and AI tokens in a city controls it)
- Settlers placed
- Shipping contracts fulfilled
- Circumstances described on cards with “end of” effects
