En Terres Sauvages

Description

En terres sauvages combines the best of an OSR* approach and Dungeon World to create adventures that focus on exploration and discovery rather than combat. Its random tables generate ideas, not rigid results, to better embrace the fiction of any gaming table.

En terres sauvages is the French translation of The Perilous Wilds by Jason Lutes. It is recognized as one of the best supplements published to date for Dungeon World, Freebooters on the Frontier, and other Heroic Fantasy role-playing games. En terres sauvages invites you to create outdoor settings, dangers, and discoveries to take your adventurers on a journey to discover a world both beautiful, vast, and... dangerous.

It's the ideal supplement for preparing or improvising outdoor adventures. I love this supplement because it combines simple, flexible guidelines with useful and inspiring random tables. What's more, its take on regions, locations, discoveries, dangers, and inhabitants is pragmatic and offers plenty of opportunities for gameplay. In short, it is high game potential, just how I like it!

Not just for Dungeon World or Freebooters on the Frontier

The rules for creating regions, locations, discoveries, and dangers, as well as those for creating dungeons and collaborative maps, are not tied to any particular game system, just like the creation of locations in Dungeon World. And while the random tables are structured to take advantage of the new rules (travel, recruits, dungeons, etc.), they remain useful for exploring any fantasy setting. In short, En Terres Sauvages is 95% usable for any fantasy game except purely urban fantasy (there's Impitoyables bourgades for that).
