Find Jack if you're a policeman, or commit 5 crimes before the end of the game if you're the Ripper.
Prepare to enter the squalid London district of Whitechapel. Its crumbling, smelly streets, its peddlers, its shouting merchants, its ragged children begging for a few coins, its numerous prostitutes, and... Jack.
This is where this game will take you: One player will play the role of Jack the Ripper, and their goal will be to commit 5 crimes before being captured.
The other players (1 to 5) will be police officers who must cooperate to catch Jack before the end of the game.
The game board represents the Whitechapel district during Jack the Ripper's time and is marked with 199 numbered circles connected by dotted lines. During the game, Jack the Ripper, the police, and the prostitutes are moved along the dotted lines representing the streets of Whitechapel. Jack the Ripper moves stealthily around the numbered circles, while the police patrol between the intersections.
Game Setup: One player is Jack the Ripper—the most experienced player is a good choice—while the other players become police detectives. The detectives must always work together, so they will divide the five police officers among themselves.
At the start of the game, Jack secretly chooses his hideout from among the numbered circles on the board. His goal is to return to his hideout after each murder without being caught by the police. The potential victims of Jack the Ripper are placed on the board, along with the police tokens, and the game is ready to begin.
