Blades in the Dark is a role-playing game featuring a gang of criminals seeking fortune in the haunted streets of Duskvol. You'll find robberies, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches to be had if you're daring enough.

You play this game to find out if your newly formed gang can thrive among rival gangs, powerful noble families, malevolent ghosts, not to mention the city's “blue coats”...and your own character's vices.

Gameplay focuses on criminal activities called Scores. A game session usually consists of 1 or 2 Scores, each followed by recovery, personal projects, and advancement for the scoundrels and their crew.

In Blades in the Dark, your crew receives its own “character sheet” (chosen from different classes, such as Cult, Thieves, or Smugglers), gains XP, and levels up along with the characters. As you advance the crew, you unlock new options and abilities for the scoundrels and climb the ranks of the factions in the city.
