Kobolds don't understand why everyone hates them; all they know is that this hatred is unanimous. And since they only live for an average of two years—due to the constant fatal pressures exerted on kobold lives—it's difficult for them to find the cause.
No Country For Old Kobolds is a game designed to explore the lives of the kobolds that inhabit classic fantasy games. Why are they so hated? What effect do these constant attempts at genocide by novice adventurers have on their people? How do they survive in a world determined to destroy them at every turn?
The game can be depressing, it can be comical, and it can be sinister. It's usually a mixture of all three. It's a dark comedy that aims for the throat, a game in which you are always given up for lost, and where your strategies span multiple generations. There is no victory in No Country For Old Kobolds; only survival matters. And for kobolds, the only way to survive is to work together.
No Country for Old Kobolds is a “supplement” for Dungeon World, which, as its name suggests, allows you to play a village of kobolds trying to protect themselves from outside dangers, not least of which are human adventurers.
You don't need to own Dungeon World to play.
