As the cathedral drifts before the angelic gate, the priests begin chanting their prayers, imploring it to open the way so they can embark on a new Golden Pilgrimage. A ship carrying firewater and other contraband from the Brass City drifts silently through the Deep Astral Plane, hoping to bypass the border islands… and whatever lurks in the darkness. Meanwhile, a Kytheranne assault fleet rapidly approaches, while soldiers from a multi-fort Dwarven stronghold load Elemental Cores into the muzzles of a battery of fire lances.
The thought-body, trembling nervously at the sight of so many Astral Weavers, begins its form-kata examination to validate its graduation. A mining vessel casts a series of towing chains onto a stabilized islet, trying to haul it in, hoping it doesn’t fluctuate before they can extract ore to be refined. Devouring darkness creeps toward the cold spires of the Elven city of Astrazalian. Most inhabitants barricade themselves behind closed doors; only the White Owls, the nobility, and the unwitting dare venture outside before dispersing.
A Sundered World is a “Gonzo Fantasy” setting supplement for Dungeon World, in the style of planar worlds like D&D or Adventure Time.
