Flames of War - Liberation of Italy - FJ 10.5cm Artillery Battery

Description

Flames of War - Liberation of Italy - FJ 10.5cm Artillery Battery

The 10.5cm leFH 18 light field howitzer's main mission was to support German attacks and to shatter enemy counterattacks before they reached their objective. They also provided a base of fire in a last-ditch line of defence.
The 10.5cm leFH 18 howitzer was introduced into service with the German army in 1935 and continued to be used throughout the war. In 1940 a more powerful charged round was introduced to increase the howitzer’s range out from 10,675 to 12,325 metres. To help the recoil mechanism to cope with the increased recoil a muzzle brake was added to the end of the barrel. Though the 10.5cm leFH 18 howitzer is a reasonably modern design is was still very heavy and all but impossible for the crew to move quickly, and even then not without the aid of a tractor of limber team.
Expert artillery support enhances the already substantial capabilities of the Fallschirmjäger, making accomplishing their missions, whether it be defensive or offensive, much easier.
This box contains:
  • 4x 10.5cm Howitzer Teams
