Description

The Germans were equipped with two excellent machine guns, the MG34 and the MG42 with fast fire. The latter was known to allied troops under the name of "Hitler circular saw" because of its distinctive noise, or "spandau" because of the place where it was made, which was wrong (but from where The term "Ballet Spandau" for a man affected by one of them). Unlike the other armies, the Germans used the same machine gun both as a squad weapon since his beep and as a support weapon mounted on a tripod. Mounting on a tripod offered a much more stable shooting platform and facilitated a sustained shot using a belt diet.
