Build your Anglo-Saxon kingdoms to prepare for the Viking attack.

The year is 793, and the coast of Northumbria is ablaze. The attack on Lindisfarne was only the first assault: more raids will follow. As rulers of Wessex, Mercia, Northumbria, and East Anglia, you must prepare your kingdom for the coming storm.

Strengthen your defenses and expand your kingdoms with new cities, but beware: the more you expand, the more you attract the Vikings to your kingdom. Will you be the most powerful kingdom, ready to withstand the Viking onslaught, or will your lands be ravaged by fire and steel? The fate of Anglo-Saxon England is in your hands.

Gather useful supporters and upgrade your castles, because the Vikings are coming, and they're not here to make friends! At the end of the game, you score points for each row on your board, but only if your defense is stronger than the power of the Viking attack.
