SLALM
The year is 430 of the Third Age. Arkhanval is a world experiencing rapid demographic, scientific, cultural, and economic growth. Arkhanval is a world at peace, but only on the surface.
For centuries, the Pillars of the Union have managed to control the chaos that fuels creation and protect it from outside influences. Now, Arkhanval is slowly emerging from its long lethargy.
Reckless magicians and carefree dreamers are undermining the fragile balance established by the Guardians of old, risking a return to the dark times of the First Age.
The territorial ambitions of men (far removed from those of the original peoples of Arkhanval) are turning them against each other. It blinds them to the most pressing threat: the Aes Sidh. A veritable legion with sprawling and polymorphous ramifications, serving a single master, this unnameable and gigantic entity is attempting to materialize in Arkhanval in order to satisfy its thirst for power and suffering.
While it is prevented from doing so by the barrier of the Pillars, its minions work to destroy them by intruding into the dreams of the most vulnerable minds.
Little by little, new windows open onto terrifying dimensions. Vast territories, unexplored since the end of the Guardians' reign that sealed the Second Age, are reemerging with forgotten threats, creatures born of chaos and the most terrifying nightmares.
The Arkaneum is the only force capable of meeting the challenges facing the world of dreams. Will its shadowguards, your characters, rise to the occasion? Will they become the new Guardians of Arkhanval so that this world may have a future?
This book expands on the world of Arkhanval. It contains:
• the history of this world;
• revelations about the Guardians;
• a description of the most important regions of Arkhanval.
The Arkhanval Rulebook is sold separately. It is necessary to fully exploit the game information contained in
