The Bioficers are ancient, corrupted artificial intelligences. Biology is their clay. They can vaporise it, ingest it, and shape it. Their bio-drones are woven in minutes and are disposable, built for specific tasks, and might be any shape that nightmares can conjure. Their ships are uniquely advanced, focused, and utterly lethal. They have no grand strategy and no goal besides revelling in war and the slow suffering of capable prey. They are a factor apart and may be the greatest threat sentient life has ever faced.
Bioficer fleets are system-level threats eager to teach whole populations the meaning of terror. They emerge without warning from their own unique means of faster-than-light travel, form up, and unleash hell. Boarding actions are dreaded beyond those of any other foe. Lightning raids and pinpoint annihilations are their favoured tactics, but colonial planners fear the potential of invasion fleets lurking in the void, ready to end human progress forever.
