The principle of Nature Challenges - Animal Records is simple: children aged 7+ bet on the strengths of animals. The player who has the strongest characteristic wins the cards of the other players. The first player to collect all the cards in the game wins the game.
All players have their cards in front of them, face down. The player who starts the round looks at the first card in his or her pile and chooses the characteristic of the animal that he or she thinks is the strongest. The other players look at their first card and state the value of that same characteristic. The player with the highest value wins the round.
Battle example:
The humpback whale weighs 25,000 kg... Can it win the battle against the black howler, a monkey from South America? Yes! The humpback whale is the heaviest animal (the black howler weighs only 7 kg). Beware, the degree of threat to the species can turn the tables in battles! If a player's animal is more threatened than the one of the player who opened the round, he can change the confrontation characteristic.
The records of these two species? The black howler is able to make screams so loud that they can be heard more than five kilometers away. The humpback whale is an apnea specialist: it can hold its breath for more than 30 minutes!
A random Collector's Card is included in the Nature Challenge Animal Records deck. It allows players to discover a natural phenomenon (e.g. Fire, Rainbow, Tornado, Eclipse, Hail, Aurora Polar...) and leads to a specific action on the round.
