Méli Miaou is a game where mischievous kittens rummage through a basket full of tangled balls of yarn.
Each player takes on the role of a kitten trying to carefully pull the strings of the right color to complete their personal collection. But the balls of yarn aren’t always cooperative: hidden knots can suddenly appear, forcing a kitten to stop and giving an opponent a chance to take advantage.
At the start of the game, players receive a stack of “yarn ball” cards face down, which secretly determine the colors they must collect. On their turn, a player begins by turning over the top card of their stack, then adds it to their board to indicate the yarn colors they can pull from the basket.
They then choose one of those colors and gently pull on a corresponding thread. If a knot appears, the player must immediately let go, and their turn ends. If the thread comes out completely without revealing a knot, the player collects it and places it next to the corresponding cards that have already been turned over.
