Description
The Char Churchill entered into action for the first time as part of the RAID on Dieppe, on the French coast, in August 1942. Their performance was not spectacular. Two months later, Churchill had the opportunity to redeem themselves in the form of Kingforce. At the end of the Battle of El Alamein, Kingforce had destroyed five panzers and three anti-tank guns for the loss of a tank. The Char Churchill had shown that he was ready for the battle.
