Work on different projects, each offering a slim chance to save the world!

As one of the galaxy's greatest scientific researchers, you are in high demand. You have spent the last two years on Alarria, a small terrestrial planet located several light-years from Earth.

You have studied the highly diverse native fauna, and your field research has already yielded incredible results. However, your days as a simple scientist are about to come to an end.

An asteroid the size of a small country has been detected by radar and is hurtling toward Alarria, threatening to destroy the planet. Your research has been put on hold as the planet's greatest minds have been recruited to come up with plans.

Time is running out, as every second brings the asteroid closer to Alarria. Where will you focus your efforts? Which plan has the best chance of success? There is no time to waste. If nothing is done quickly, the planet itself could disappear. Three separate plans have been implemented, each with a slim chance of success:

  • A powerful laser is tracking the asteroid's trajectory and will fire as soon as it is within range, hoping to reduce it to a mere pebble.
  • An energy shield may be enough to deflect the approaching asteroid, altering its trajectory and saving Alarria.
  • In a last-ditch attempt to preserve some of the planet's unique species, an evacuation plan has been ordered. The nearby forest moon, Fortuna, has been tested and found to be capable of supporting life. Fortunately, it lies outside the impact zone. You must move as many species as possible before impact.

At the end of each round, projects will be evaluated and the asteroid will get closer and closer. Can you make the right decisions to avert disaster in this competitive science fiction game?

How to Save a World includes all stretch goals.
