Each player receives an asymmetrical board and sets out to build paths connecting olive trees, orange trees, and strawberry plants to their markets, while linking pairs of matching markets to make further progress. Requiring virtually no setup, the game starts in seconds but offers meaningful choices from the very first roll of the dice.
On each turn, two dice determine the types of terrain that can be connected, and all players simultaneously draw a path between adjacent spaces on their own boards. Making connections advances players along shared paths, unlocking bonus spaces that can trigger rewarding chain reactions leading to the creation of additional paths.
The asymmetrical boards and the uneven distribution of landscape combinations on the dice create a subtle puzzle: some connections are easier to make than others, rewarding players who anticipate and adapt their routes as the game progresses.
The first player to establish three connections on all four tracks wins the game.
Terravista includes 12 unique cards spread across 6 double-sided boards, special dice, dry-erase markers, and several game modes, including a solo mode, a point-based scoring system, and a tournament variant.
