La Bataille de Wavre June 18-19 1815

As Marshal Grouchy’s men marched up the Brussels/Wavre high road the distant cannonade grew louder. Great events were apparently unfolding elsewhere. But as the sound of these guns increased to a continuous roar so too did the wrath of Grouchy’s men. Frustrated in the knowledge that they were too far away to affect those events, by the time they reached Wavre their fury had reached fever pitch. General Vandamme took only a moment to arrange his lead division for assault. A moment later all hell broke loose.
La Bataille de Wavre simulates the often ignored exploits of the right wing of L’Armée du Nord, on the fateful day of Waterloo, June 18, and the field which on the next day (completely oblivious to the movements of Napoleon’s defeat) saw the most desperate of Napoleonic clashes as the Waterloo cycle ended in simultaneous roar coupled with La Bataille de Mont St. Jean.
As the French player you command the Corps of Generals Vandamme and Gérard. As the Prussian player you have General Thielmann and his vastly outnumbered troops facing a sea of standing between 23 thousand fanatically loyal Frenchmen and their Emperor.
Warning: This is an expansion set. You must also have either the Deluxe Edition of La Bataille de Ligny or La Bataille de Mont St. Jean.
