Earth Under Siege: Flashpoint—Tactical Infiltration Against the Xethan Invasion

In the near future, overrun by the Xethan aliens and their human collaborators, the Vormacht, players take on the role of AEGIS operatives tasked with carrying out infiltration missions rather than simple head-on confrontations: hacking security systems, sabotaging facilities, or eliminating high-value targets without ever being detected.

The game’s originality lies in its Flashpoint mechanic: as long as players remain discreet, the mission remains a stealth operation, but at the slightest suspicious noise or detection, an alarm is triggered and abruptly transforms the infiltration into a desperate tactical defense against waves of enemies.

From absolute silence to a last-ditch battle

Each mission takes place on a modular board composed of tiles representing the different areas of a facility, where operators move while attempting to avoid enemy lines of sight and using ventilation ducts when necessary.

Players’ actions are resolved using specialized dice, whose results can be mitigated with concentration tokens, thereby limiting the impact of bad luck on a carefully planned strategy. Between missions in the branching campaign, players level up their operators by unlocking new skills and equipment, while upgrading their AEGIS headquarters, which provides bonuses for the entire team.

Succeed in the mission or face the counterattack

A mission is successful when the operators manage to accomplish the set objective—whether it’s sabotage, an elimination, or a hacking operation—without ever triggering a general alarm, or by managing to survive the ensuing combat. If detected, switching to a tactical defense strategy may still lead to victory, though at the cost of a much riskier confrontation than anticipated.

The choices made throughout the campaign’s twenty-one main missions influence subsequent scenarios, with each playthrough revealing only a portion of the total available content—encouraging players to replay the campaign to explore its various branches.
