The Civil War was the deadliest conflict and a defining moment in U.S. history. The game mechanics are based on the acclaimed Borodino/Napoleon at Waterloo system. Terrain plays a crucial role, ranging from gentle agricultural hills to wooded and wild areas. Many battles will see control of key positions change hands several times. Rules for night turns add an extra dimension. A set of standard rules applies to all games, while each battle has its own exclusive rules, historical setups, and player and designer notes—faithfully preserved from the original SPI editions.
