Lightning D-Day offers a dynamic and realistic simulation of the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944. Each of the five beaches is represented by its own map (Gold, Juno, Sword, Omaha, and Utah), as are the German and Allied divisions.
The Allied player must manage their resources to capture their objectives and hold them by the end of the day. Even if things seem to be going well, all it takes is for the player’s airborne divisions to become scattered for a Panzer division to reach the beaches—especially since it’s not possible to move a unit from one beach to another.
With short, intense games, this is a great little game for beginners or for players short on time.
